Water UK response to Ofwat consultation on assessing base costs at PR24

We share Ofwat’s view that the water sector faces a series of long-term challenges; as base costs represent the vast majority of water companies’ expenditure, it is crucial to get this aspect of PR24 right. We are however concerned that the proposals in the consultation do not provide a sustainable approach to addressing the long-term challenges facing the sector.
