Water UK is supporting a national week-long campaign to promote water saving methods for the home, garden, schools, workplace and communities. Water Saving Week aims to raise awareness of the need for everyone to use water wisely – whatever the weather and wherever the location – to protect this precious and finite resource for generations to come.
Waterwise and WaterSafe have organised the campaign, which runs from 21 – 25 March 2016, around five daily themes:
- Monday – School
- Tuesday – Workplace
- Wednesday – Home
- Thursday – Community
- Friday – Garden
Jacob Tompkins, Managing Director of Waterwise, said:
“We’re building on the success of last year’s launch campaign with an exciting range of activities to raise awareness about the need to save water and share simple ideas and tips to help everyone do their bit.”
This year’s Water Saving Week is particularly significant as it coincides with World Water Day (Tuesday 22 March).
Water UK is supporting WaterAid’s #Blue4Water campaign, by encouraging everyone to use WaterAid’s online tool to turn their profiles blue on Twitter and Facebook.
