Take the RNLI H2Only challenge

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is launching the H2Only campaign today which challenges people to drink nothing but water for 10 days.

This is a great opportunity to take advantage of the high quality tap water we have in the UK. Our water is tightly regulated and regularly ranks amongst the best in the world. By drinking the stuff from your tap, you could raise money for the cause and help the RNLI to save lives at sea. You can find out just how much money you spend on drinks with the RNLI's online drinks calculator.

Running from 13th to 23rd September, the RNLI is encouraging us, through the "H2Only Challenge", to put down our tea, coffee, wine, beer and fizzy drinks and drink water instead. The campaign will raise money to support the work of RNLI volunteers, who are on call 24 hours a day. They provide lifeboat search and rescue services and a seasonal lifeguard service.

In 2015, RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews across the UK and Ireland rescued 7,973 people, saving 348 lives, while the charity's lifeguards helped 18,181 people and saved 94 lives.

To support this work, the RNLI has created a number of fundraising ideas, including creating a workplace H2Only 'crew' and setting challenges across the office.

If you want to donate, or take the challenge yourself, take a look at the H2Only campaign website.
