These are unprecedented times. No part of our society or economy is unaffected by the crisis we are currently facing, and everyone has a part to play in getting the nation through it.
The water industry is no exception. Across the sector we have been working hard to ensure customers continue to enjoy the same world class service they’ve come to expect.
The last thing anyone wants to be worrying about at a time like this is their water supply, or how they are going to pay their bills. That’s why I want you to know that water companies are here to help and will continue to provide clean, safe, reliable drinking water for everyone.
If you’ve got questions or concerns please check out our advice for customers which contains a list of the most common queries. Water companies are increasing their efforts to help customers who are experiencing immediate or short-term issues with paying their bill. Please get in touch with your water company to find out what help is available for you. If you’re not sure who your water company is you can use our postcode finder here to find out.
Finally, you may see water company personnel out on the streets during this time. It is vital that we continue to maintain our network and deal with any problems, which is why they’re officially designated as key workers by the Government. So, if you see someone repairing a pipe or dealing with a leak feel free to give them a wave but please don’t approach them. The water industry’s priority is to keep customers and colleagues safe at this time so staff will be following the Government guidance on social distancing.
I have no doubt that this is going to be a challenging and stressful period for us all but together we will come out the other side. Keep checking on water.org.uk for the latest advice on your water supply and don’t hesitate to contact your water company if you need help.
