Two-year training at South East Water

Applications will be opening in April for new apprentices to join South East Water's successful two-year apprenticeship programme.

South East Water already has eight apprentices who will be moving into their second year of the scheme in September.

During the first six months of the programme, apprentices gain an overview of the company before specialising in one area of water supply.

Sam Wilson, 20, who is on the programme, has been working at water treatment works across Kent, said: "The best thing I ever did was apply for a place on this apprenticeship programme.

"No two days are the same and each day is equally interesting and challenging. I thrive on the responsibility of helping to keep the company's water treatment works in Kent up and running so water can flow to our customers' taps twenty-four hours a day."

As well as gaining hands on experience the apprentices work towards achieving a Water Engineering Diploma and Level 3 NVQ.
