Water UK has responded to reports of multiple burst pipes caused by the thaw of snow and ice.

In November 2020, water companies unveiled a ground-breaking plan to deliver a net zero water supply for customers by 2030 in the world’s first sector-wide commitment of its kind. 

There is not long left before more than 1.2 million small businesses, charities and public sector bodies in England will be free to choose their water and wastewater supplier.

Water companies have confirmed they are taking extra action to fix leaks this summer, and are planning ambitious new leakage targets for the future.
