We have launched a public consultation on building an ambitious, long-term Vision for the water sector in England.
The Developing a 2050 Vision for the Water Sector discussion paper is the first step towards agreeing ways of accelerating and broadening the sector’s role in the face of unprecedented challenges.
The 2050 Vision discussion paper confirms the industry’s ambition to be recognised as a global environmental leader: stewarding the improvement and protection of England’s iconic rivers, seas, lakes and streams; acting on the severe impacts of climate change, as well as protecting customers’ long-term interests in keeping households and businesses bills affordable.
Frontier Economics, Europe’s largest economic consultants, were commissioned to help produce the report for Water UK.
Developing the Vision
Our public consultation is the first step in developing a long-term plan the industry can stand behind; however, it is not fixed. We will continue to engage with stakeholders over the next few months to ensure the Vision keeps evolving:
We will reflect on all the feedback received through each consultation phase with a view to publishing a final 2050 Vision document this Summer.
Have your say
We welcome all responses to our 2050 Vision discussion paper.
The deadline for responses is Wednesday 31 March and all submissions, including any supporting evidence, should be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
