The National Healthy Schools Standard (NHSS) is sponsored by the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills, and managed by the HDA.
It has a programme in every local area.
The NHSS is very involved in promoting drinking water in schools because of the clear evidence that this both stimulates concentration and learning and at the same time is critical as a basis of good health.
