British Dietetic Association

The British Dietetic Association was established in 1936 and is the professional association for dietitians. We aim to promote health and well being amongst the population through the science and practice of dietetics, and inform, protect, represent and support our 6000+ members.

Most BDA members are qualified dietitians holding a degree or postgraduate diploma recognised for Registration by the Health Professions Council.

Dietitians are uniquely qualified professionals, who translate the scientific evidence of nutrition into safe, impartial, practical and up to date food based guidance for people and policies.

The British Dietetic Association supports the efforts of the Water for Health Alliance in raising awareness of the importance of good hydration within a healthy life. Tap water is the ideal beverage to support fluid requirements.
