Action on Elder Abuse is a national charity working on the prevention of, and action on, the abuse of vulnerable older adults and is the only UK charity dealing exclusively with this issue.
We provide advice and guidance to those affected by or concerned about abuse through a freephone national helpline.
We also provide education and training to key workers and campaign at government level to introduce legislative change to provide the legal protection needed to the elderly.
There remains a huge amount of neglect of vulnerable older adults in care homes across the country, of which malnutrition is a key factor. The hydration toolkit is a vital step towards improving care standards. We look forward to working further with Water UK towards improving best practice in care homes and preventing this form of neglect of vulnerable older adults.
