Water for Health Alliance Meeting - Tuesday 15 April 2008

29/04/08

The importance of hydration and increasing the accessibility of high quality drinking water were two of the key issues discussed at the Water for Health Alliance forum on 15 April at One Queen Anne’s Gate, London.

Alliance members agreed that there’s been a significant behavioural shift towards drinking tap water since the group’s inauguration five years ago. This reinforced the enthusiasm of the group to continue their great work.

The group discussed areas that need further development and shared their water raising awareness experiences including:

Northumbrian Water has opened a joint health centre in Easington to encourage people to drink more water and keep fit. Anglian Water previewed their new campaign to improve older people’s water consumption in care settings.

Hydrochill discussed the issue of getting fresh chilled tap water into public places.
