Help with arrears + affordability 
Charitable trust 
Southern Water Trust Fund is a registered charity that helps people experiencing difficulties meeting paying their water charges by offering grants.
 
New Start Scheme 
New Start Scheme: if customer is able to start paying what is owed for the current year by regular instalments, Southern Water will clear the same amount from the arrears. (See notes below.)
 
Special tariffs 
WaterSure for those on certain income-related benefits and who either have three children under the age of 19 in full-time education and living in the property or use a lot of water due to a medical condition.

Water Direct scheme for people receiving benefits.

Methods: Direct Debit, Online, Debit/Credit Card, Payment Card, Cheque, Bank Giro, Standing Order, Cash

Channels: Bank, Post Office, Online, Paypoint Outlet, Doorstep Call

Notes

New Start example: if charges for this year are £250 and customer pays £4.80 each week, the same amount will be taken off arrears from previous years. To qualify, customer must owe at least £750 or you have not paid anything in the previous two financial years. For further assistance please call 0845 274 0845.
