Water UK has responded to the Environment Agency consultation on odour, regulated under the Environmental Permitting Regulations.
The guidance is described as being prepared to inform those who may require an Environmental Permit to undertake their activity. Formerly H, or horizontal guidance, notes were prepared to inform those requiring IPPC permits.
However the development of the Environmental Permitting
Regulations has the potential to extend the requirement for environmental permits to sites currently regulated by the Water Resources Act, Water Industry Act and Urban Waste Water Directive.
