Response to DECC Renewable Energy Financial Incentives 2009 Consultation

20/10/09

Water UK responded to the Department of Energy and Climate Change consultation

We strongly support the role of economic incentives in stimulating the growth of renewable energy generation in the UK. The water industry currently generates electricity and heat from anaerobic digestion, wind and hydropower. Together, this generation represents around 8.5% of the industry’s total energy use. There is potential for this to increase in future.
