Leakage targets beaten but still work to do

18/09/08

Water UK conference to debate next steps

Leakage remains at the top of customers’ and the water industry’s priorities in the long and short term, despite Ofwat’s announcement that water companies in England and Wales have met or beaten their leakage targets.

The next 25 years will demand greater innovation in leakage reduction to cope with an increasing population and ever growing pressures of climate change.

Bringing together leakage and infrastructure experts throughout the UK, the Water UK Leakage Conference will take place on Thursday 2 October (pre-conference dinner Wednesday, 1 October).

The event will enable industry employees, suppliers and regulators to review past years' leakage results, debate the next year’s targets and keep up to date with the latest products.
