New bathing water profiles provide the most comprehensive information yet on the cleanliness of local waters, helping the public to make more informed choices about the best locations for bathing.
The production of bathing water profiles is a requirement of the new Bathing Water Directive (2006), and all three UK environment agencies have now completed these and made them accessible online.
Companies have provided detailed information on the location of their discharges and look forward to the challenge of providing real-time information if there is likely to be any impact on bathing water quality.
