Water UK has published national guidance to clarify requirements for wastewater discharges from healthcare organisations.
It is important that water companies control such discharges as they may affect the operation and fabric of the sewer system and be a risk to water company personnel, as well as potentially having an impact on the performance of the receiving wastewater treatment works.
The water industry review group, with the cooperation of representatives of the healthcare sector, should be congratulated in the preparation of such a valuable and user-friendly document.
