What a pity that circumstances deprive Members of the House of Lords of a top tasting tap water at committee meetings. Especially when the local supply at the Palace of Westminster is among the best in the country, as reported by a panel of experts in a recent blind tasting test.
Before the summer recess, the HoL Administration and Works Committee considered a paper to establish an on-site plant for bottling tap water but found the plan uneconomic compared to existing procurement arrangements.
This raised more than just eyebrows when Water for Health Alliance members heard of the outcome, and the associated costs. The Alliance sincerely hopes this can be sorted out to the advantage of everyone – not least the planet. We stand by ready to offer information and advice on our own use of flip-top bottles for tap.
