Waterwise, the UK’s leading authority on water efficiency, presented details of their work linking water and energy saving at a stakeholder meeting for the candidate European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on Water Efficiency this month.
This Europe-wide partnership would develop innovative solutions to the challenges of floods, drought and water scarcity, and water quality, as well as creating market opportunities inside and outside the EU.
Water UK hopes to contribute to this work, which offers the prospect of solutions to some difficult issues without the need for further regulation.
In 2012 the European Council and Parliament will decide which of the candidate EIPs are to be adopted.
