Water UK looks longer term to reduce impact of future floods

30/07/08

The Water UK Flooding Review Group, led by independent chairman Sir John Baker, has published its second and final report on the industry’s response to the 2007 summer floods.

The report provides a checklist of actions for the water industry on its own and in collaboration with others. It recommends long-term upgrades to water and wastewater infrastructure and a strengthening of existing assets against damage from extreme weather.

These are significant challenges which the report recommends be overseen by the Flooding Review Group.
