Consumer advocacy duties for water in Scotland have been transferred to Consumer Focus Scotland, and complaints that cannot be resolved by Scottish Water are now dealt with by the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman.
Both organisations have a great deal of expertise within other sectors and as such will no doubt take slightly different approaches from Waterwatch Scotland, closed in August.
It is hoped that this change will be positive for water customers and that there will be some good ideas coming forward. There now needs to be a period of stability to allow these changes to bed in.
