Party conferences

30/09/10

The water industry is well represented at fringe meetings at the party conferences this autumn, in partnership with the All Party Parliamentary Water Group.

Questions from Liberal Democrat delegates in Liverpool covered: social and seasonal tariffs; using inland waterways to transport water; and sewers and the damage caused by non-flushable products. Labour party activists in Manchester were particularly interested in innovation, affordability and sustainability.

Next stop: the Conservatives in Birmingham, where the industry will address the meeting to consider whether the current regulatory framework provides the right incentives for investment from the industry in the right places.
